Sonic, a game released more then ten years ago, but still addictive as few other games can be. His name was inspired by the ability to run at supersonic speeds, as this is what he’s most known for.
In this simple, and engaging platform game, the objective is to prevent the the vilan, Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik of an attempt to rule the world.
The controls are self-explanatory and said in the beginning of the flash. Left and right arrows to move, space to jump, spindash – hold down, press space, release down, and to pause, press Enter.
This version of the game, gives you two options to choose considering game-play, Main Game, or Time Trial, and in both situations, you can choose from 4 of the Sega characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles or Cream. All the heroes have the ability to run, jump, and roll, but 2 of them - Tails and Cream - have an extra ability, to fly. But don’t think you can fly forever, because they get tired after a couple of seconds, yet this skill can be very precious some times.
To kill or damage opponents, all you need to do is roll on the ground, or if they’re in the air, you need to jump (and it automatically rolls at the same time), and just by colliding with them, damage being done.
To protect yourself, collect the rings that appear along the scenarios, another way of protection are the shields, but there’s no protection versus instant death, like falling of the map.
In the Main Menu, there are sound options, you can control the effects, and music volume. There is also another feature on the Play Time Trial menu, where records from different zones can be viewed.
Springs, slopes, high falls, and loopings, with these kind of game features, it makes the player want to reach high-speeds, so the Timed Version is good option too.
